Longsleeves

This is an excerpt from Chris Darby’s tour journal which you can receive in your email if you sign up for his mailing list. It’s a really great, detailed document of the traveling he and I have done thus far on our tour:

So, after a few days off in Chicago, I am back into the swing of things. I left Chicago Wednesday afternoon, for Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It was to be the first of three weeks of shows with Longsleeves, and I couldn’t be more excited about this. Longsleeves is the brainchild of a certain James Musselman, who is based out of San Diego, but has Midwestern roots. I have seen this act as a duo before, but for this tour, it is James traveling solo. My guitar player, Julius, came along with me for the Ft. Wayne show, and the few days following. It is always good to have him along.

The drive to Ft. Wayne was uneventful. We made it to The Brass Rail around 9, and started playing around 10. I had played this place before, when I came through in early August. It was a pleasant surprise to see that many of the people I had met last time were there again to see this show. Lee Miles also played this show. He is an incredible musician, and I suggest checking him out.
