Submitted a cover of a Wooden Satellites song to help promote their new record Let’s Make Crimes, which comes out Saturday, February 19th on 12” vinyl. They recorded the record in analogue and it’s pretty awesome. Definitely check out the record and the band. Good people, good music. This cover version has additional vocals from my friend Katie Bolger. She has a superb voice and I’ll have to get her to record some more material where it can be mixed more audibly than in this track. Enjoy.

Before Elderberry, I worked on a 15 minute long piece that was a quirky, spaced-out debstep symphony dedicated to all of the owls Ben, Alex and I saw on tour last October.

A year later, I think it’s time it finally saw the light of day, instead of collecting dust.

Longsleeves was featured today on A New Band A Day today. Joe Sparrow had this to say of Elderberry:

“By dragging together such desperate sounds – glossy, pearly synth noises, hissing, compressed snares, the sound of a 1980′s home computer loading from a tape, Longsleeves are […] light years ahead of the majority.”

Elder is a sign of evolutionary change, a transition from one state to another. Old things are passing away and new things will take their place. It is a time of letting go of what holds you back. It is important to come to terms with change during this cycle. Everything changes and transforms. All life is beginnings and endings, birth, death, and rebirth.
